WHERE IT ALL BEGAN:
Before we get into the ghosts and the cold cases, you deserve to know who's telling you these stories, and how two people who had never met ended up with a microphone.
Back in April, Pamela was taking her one-year sobriety cake, which, if you've done it, you know is equal parts triumph and please stop looking at me. In the front row sat a woman she had never met before. That was Kendra.
The next day, Kendra reached out and asked if Pamela would be her sponsor. Not coffee. Not a hey, nice speech. A real commitment, within twenty-four hours. Bold. Efficient. Slightly terrifying. Pamela said yes. The two started spending time together and Kendra noticed and appreciated Pamela's dry sense of humor about life in recovery and. Turns out you can talk about the hardest thing you've ever done and still get a laugh. Who knew.
Then one day, when it was just the two of them, Kendra said, in passing, like it was nothing: we should do a podcast.
And Pamela said: I've always wanted to do one.
They could have saved a lot of time if the universe had just sent a text.
As for the name: the 604 is the area code for Vancouver. It's short, it's ours, and it's the city that gave us our lives back. Everything we talk about happens inside those three digits: the ghosts, the murders, the lore, and the two of us.
Here's where we are now. Kendra is still Pamela's sponsee. But even better, they're friends. And now, somehow, podcast partners.
Nobody plans this. You show up to get your life back, and you walk out with a co-host.
